Description of Significance THE MANGUM COMMUNITY BUILDING IS A 2 1/2 STORY LIMESTONE VENEER BUILDING, CONSTRUCTED BY THE FERA AND THE WPA BETWEEN 1935 AND 1936. THE BUILDING HAS A GAMBREL ROOF, BUT IN OTHER DETAILS, CHARACTERIZES THE CRAFTSMAN STYLE OF ARCHITECTURE. THESE INCLUDE ITS EXPOSED RAFTER TAILS, MASSIVE STONE PORCH SUPPORTS, DOUBLE WINDOWS, AND WOODEN PLANK DOORS. THE BUILDING HAS BEEN RELATIVELY UNALTERED. AS THE FERA ORIGINALLY INTENDED, THE COMMUNITY BUILDING HAS SERVED A VARIETY OF CIVIC FUNCTIONS IN MANGUM, AS A LIBRARY, AUDITORIUM, AND MEETING FACILITY. LISTED IN THE NATIONAL REGISTER, 3/17/1995.
